There is plenty of activities for families along the Shell coast. Kids love getting close to the sharks and other local marine at the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium. Next to the aquarium is the Dale Shields Bird Sanctuary. There you will find over 22,000 rescued and rehabilitated birds. Kids can meet fine feathered friends and learn about them.

Winding paths lead through 16 acres with 100 varieties of palms plus lots of local plant varieties in the Sarasota Jungle Gardens. This is one of the area's favorite kiddy attraction, featuring a playground with a jungle theme, exotic birds and repitle shows, strolling peacocks and bird posing area.
