Helpful Tips & Suggestions For Planning
a Disney World Family Vacation

Are you planning a Disney World Resort Vacation? There is so much to see and do at Disney that sometimes it is overwhelming when it comes time to plan your Disney World family vacation. Deciding when to go, what parks to visit, whether to stay in an on-site or off-site hotel, and setting a budget, requires advance planning to get the best value for your money.

Walt Disney World Resort is the largest entertainment complex in the world and since 1971 it has been the top family-vacation destination in the world!

Disney World sprawls across 30,500 acres, encompassing four theme parks famous for their state of the art attractions, two water parks, a state-of- the-art sports complex and a wide range of resort hotels, restaurants, a nightclub district called Pleasure Island, golf courses and shopping in Downtown Disney. All of which makes Disney World the ultimate vacation destination. Where else can you experience so much and have a magical time with your family?

Disney WorldNo other destination caters to families as well as Disney and no one does entertainment quite like Disney. If you have kids, a visit to Disney World is almost a requirement and there's no shortage of activities in this wonderland. The problem is finding the time to enjoy all that's offered.

To get the most enjoyment out of your Disney vacation plan to stay at least a day in each of Disney's "big four" - Magic Kindgom, Epcot, MGM Studios and Animal Kingdom. If you have more time then don't miss the chance to make a splash at Disney's two water parks - Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Want more? Then spend time at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex or visit Downtown Disney or take advantage of other available activities such as golfing, hiking and riding trails, boating and waterskiing.

Here are some highlights for each of the Disney parks:

Magic Kingdom is the original flagship park the most famous. Divided into seven lands of fantasy and adventure with the park's icon - Cinderella Castle - at the center. This is the best place to find all your favorite Disney characters. This park has more for younger children than any other theme park. Take a stroll down Main Street U.S.A., take a ride through Pooh's blustery day, blast off to Tomorrowland, visit Mickey's Toontown Fair, race through the blackness of space on Space Mountain, plunge off of Splash Mountain, and don't forget the classic it's a small world-a musical tour of nations.

Epcot is the second theme park built at the resort and is divided into two areas: Future World and World Showcase. Future World has innovative exhibits and rides while World Showcase is a cultural exploration of eleven great nations. Feel the full force of a space launch on Mission: SPACE - one of the most intense thrill rides in any Disney park, put the pedal to the metal at Test Track, travel down the road to tomorrow at Innoventions, visit The Living Seas, featuring an underwater ride through a Caribbean coral reef, and then finish the day with IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, an inspiring grand finale of music, fireworks and special effects.

The Disney's Hollywood Studios is the showbiz themed park with attractions based on blockbuster movies with a 12-story Sorcerer Mickey Hat centered in the middle of the park. Features 2 thrill rides; the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock 'n Roller Coaster. Blast into hyperspace on Star Tours, join Ariel and her finned friends under the sea at Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and for the finale there's Fantasmic - an action-packed showdown between good and evil with lasers, lights, pyrotechnics, and dancing waters, all set to favorite Disney music.

Animal Kingdom, the newest and largest theme park is symbolized by the 14-story Tree of Life. This 500-acre wildlife exhibit, zoo and theme park is divided into three sections: The Real, The Mythical and The Extinct. Check out Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, a high-speed train trek forward and backward through the treacherous Himalayan, Climb aboard Kilimanjaro Safaris or a trek through the savannah where you'll see free-roaming wildlife in their natural surroundings, take a ride on Primeval Whirl, Venture down the turbulent waters of Kali River Rapids and enjoy Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade.

In addition to the big four parks, Disney offers other attractions including the following:
